As Thursday 1st of October begins, so does the remembrance of black history . This month celebrates the huge achievements from the black community, but why only a month? Keir Starmer claims that black British history should be taught 'all year round'. This will stand as a stronger build for equality and an inspiration for younger generations. This ties in with the current 'black lives matter movement' which has shone light on racism not only in the Uk, but all over the world. It is not only newsworthy, but an established part of the year to reflect upon. It is vital to keep diversity as a significant subject, and should be taught from all angles to students to recognise.
My interviewees include students ranging from both primary and secondary school, this is where students begin to grow up and understand the world in more depth. Not only students but teachers starting the curriculum. it is vital to understand a wide perspective in this matter and to be inclusive. This will benefit me in understanding whether there is enough knowledge not only on black history but also diversity as a whole.
